Endovascular catheters – Port
Placement of endovascular catheters
After oncological surgery, it is often necessary to administer intravenous chemotherapy.
For an easier and painless administration of these drugs, it is very helpful for the patient to have a catheter placed in a central vein and connect this catheter to a subcutaneous device (port) which is placed above the chest, below the collarbone and under the skin so that it is not visible.
Placement of these catheters is carried out under local anesthesia and sedation and does not require hospitalization.
